Joseph J. Pillitteri, M.A., R.E.P.A., R.E.M., Certified Asbestos Inspector

On the cutting edge of the environmental assessment industry, Joseph Pillitteri merged his business experience with Andrew Martin's scientific expertise and formed Andrew Martin Associates, Inc. in April 1990. A Registered Environmental Professional certified in several areas, including asbestos inspection, Mr. Pillitteri has personally conducted over 500 site assessments. His main role is in the management and business operations of the company. Much of his time is spent working with the financial sector, regulatory areas, and developing marketing strategies. 

Previously, Mr. Pillitteri spent 17 years as a consistent top producer in the commercial and residential real estate industry, serving four of those years on the Erie County Assessment Board of Appeals.

James M. Buchkovich, M.S., R.E.P.

James Buchkovich is currently the head of the Stream Assessment Department at Andrew Martin Associates, Inc. He holds a Scientific Collector’s Permit issued by the PA Fish & Boat Commission. Responsibilities include the assessment of habitat quality and characterization of the associated biological communities as part of PA DEP stream permitting requirements. He is a Registered Environmental Professional with the National Registry of Environmental Professionals and has over 15 years of experience conducting environmental site assessments, wetland identification studies, and wetland mitigation projects.

Mr. Buchkovich was previously employed for six years as a laboratory and field analyst. His responsibilities and duties included the testing of water, wastewater, industrial wastes, natural and fixed gases, coal, oil, asbestos, and other materials using instrumentation and US EPA approved methodologies. He served one year as the laboratory’s asbestos quality control manager.

Andrew C. Martin, M.Ed., R.E.P., I.H.

Andrew Martin, co-founder of Andrew Martin Associates, Inc., was previously head of the Environmental Site Assessment Department at Microbac Laboratories where he authored a procedural manual for conducting environmental site assessements, one of the first of its kind. In 1987, Martin retired from the Pennsylvania Game Commission as the Northwest Unit Supervisor, following 17 years of environmental law enforcement. Concurrently, he held a deputy commission with the US Fish and Wildlife Service in the law enforcement division. 

Martin has conducted and supervised over 1500 wetland identifications and delineations in five states and has completed more than 1400 site assessments in the northeastern United States. He is a past Director of the Environmental Occupational Science and Health Certificate Program at Gannon University where he taught Environmental Sciences in the graduate school of Science and Engineering.
